Outwars

Outwars is a military sci-fi third-person shooter built around mission-driven deployments across multiple planets. You play a member of the CDF Marine Jump Corps, and the campaign’s pull comes from operation-to-operation escalation—clear objectives, shifting battlefields, and the feeling of being dropped into hostile zones—rather than twist-heavy storytelling. What makes it stand out is vertical combat with rocket-propelled powered armor. Before each mission you choose an armor class (Light Scout / Medium Combat / Heavy Assault / Heavy Dreadnaut) and tailor your loadout; as you progress, new weapons and gear unlock, including add-ons like a glider wing that extends aerial maneuvering. In action, the jetpack turns altitude and angles into your main advantage—pop up for lines of fire, cut across space, reposition, then re-engage—while simple squad commands let you shape small-team pushes instead of fighting entirely solo. Multiplayer supports up to eight players with classic late-90s modes such as free-for-all, team play, and capture the flag, and the game’s modern digital releases list Ziggurat as publisher.
