EVE Burst Error (PC-98) (1995)
C's Ware

EVE Burst Error is an adult investigative visual novel released for the NEC PC-9801 on 22 November 1995 by C’s Ware. It introduced the now-famous “multi-site” system that lets you switch at will between government agent Marina Hōjō and down-on-his-luck private eye Kojiroh Amagi, with puzzles that require information to be passed back and forth between the two viewpoints. The PC-98 build shipped on multiple 3.5-inch floppies plus an 8 cm audio CD, features full ADPCM voice snippets, and drives an FM-synth soundtrack by Ryū Umemoto and Ryū Takami that has become a cult favourite.
